Welcome to my VTX 1800 Retro Site. This section will have "opinions" regarding the VTX1800 Retro whether it be exhaust mods, FI Maps, desmogging etc. I will post information I find during my "wrenching" adventures.

I've been working on a digital tachometer / shift light for the VTX 1800 for a couple of years, whenever I had to a chance to develop. You can check out the results at www.motach.com

Here's a few web pages I've created supporting the VTX1800 Retro.

If you want to to roll with a bunch of other California VTX Riders check out the forum.

This bike season started off rather slow due to all the heavy storms we've been having earlier in the year. That's all past now, temperatures are hitting the 100's now. I was able to hit 2 major motorcycle rally's this year. In March I checked out Daytona Bike Week. This is probably one of the largest rally's in the world, probably only second to Sturgis (someday I'll get there) One thing you notice immediately if your from California is the no helmet law. It took a little getting used too seeing bikers without their lids on.

The second rally I made this year was Hollister. This event has thousands of riders all heading towards the center of town. The main strip can take you an hour just moving a few blocks. Hollister is very different than Daytona Bike Week in such a way that everything seems to be much more compact and centered.

The Vendors, displays, bikes & attendees are all smashed into one. Finding a good spot for your bike and being assured you won't be "boxed" in until everyone left sort of forces you to park in the outskirts of the main action.

Another difference between the two is that in Daytona, the neighboring cities all support the week long event. You'll see other cities having some sort of rally gathering at there local HD dealers or somewhere nearby Daytona.

The actual gathering at Daytona speedway is also a "wider" area and therefore less congested. The popular booths and displays still have a huge crowd but you will find the same amount of people gathered around OCC's and S&S Motors display section as you would a beer pub in Hollister. Everything is so compact. That itself adds to the biker chaos, which is exactly what we all came for.

Check out the latest updated section of my site the "Buffed Page" I had work done by BIGLRY & BONES.

Put your shades on!

During our last coastal trip I had an experience regarding bike theft awareness. It can definitely happen anytime & anyplace check out this view...
